Illuminate PitchFest is back! We are excited to introduce to you 10 new trailblazing researchers who will take to the stage in February to present their bold and bright ideas, providing you an insight into their life-changing work.
Our researchers, competitively selected through an internal process, will pitch their research projects in the hopes of securing an Illuminate Award, philanthropically supported by our donors who share our vision of happy, healthy kids.
Our best and brightest early to mid-career researchers face an increasingly competitive environment in securing research funding, leading to substantial delays in vital research and even career insecurity. The awards provide an opportunity for our donors and supporters to see the value of their work, and support them through investment and mentorship.
On the night, guests will be invited to vote for their favourite pitch as part of our People’s Choice Illuminate Award. Following the pitches, guests will have the opportunity to meet the researchers, connect with other like-minded supporters, and enjoy some refreshments and canapes.

In August 2018, The Kids moved to our current facility at the Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) on the QEII Medical Centre campus. Our co-location with PCH and other health and research organisations allows for greater collaboration between our researchers, clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals to deliver better outcomes for children.
With a footprint across seven floors of PCH, our purpose-built facility features more than 7000sqm of workspace and 2000sqm of laboratories, as well as dedicated clinical suites and a cryogenics facility.
