Student Development Program 2023

All students of Telethon Kids Institute are invited to attend the Student Development Program (SDP) from 3-4 April 2023. This event is a valuable opportunity to access development workshops, learn invaluable skills for your studies and future career and connect with other students.

The SDP 2023 is a two-day event held at Bickley Recreational Camp, with transport, meals and accommodation provided.

On day 1 get inspired by the unique journeys in science taken by Prof Pete Gething, Dr Alix Woolard, and Zahra Abbas; and learn way to effectively communicate your research with a science communication workshop by Dr Alix Woolard. We’ll end the day with a sundowner and Q&A with Telethon Kids Institute Director Prof Jonathan Carapetis.

On day 2 dive into your personality type with a workshop by Dr Clare Berry and determine how you can build stronger, more productive relationships with your colleagues, including your supervisors, for more successful outcomes.

Finish off day 2 with your choice of social activity to get outdoors and connect with your fellow students.

*Attendance of both days will earn you 60 PD points.

Please note that the bus will be departing Telethon Kids at 9:00am on the 3rd of April, and will leave Bickley at 2:30pm on the 4th of April.
